R. Emery Bright is one of Hollywood's rising talents. In addition to being a lawyer, Emery has been on a rampage, working as an actor, writer, and producer. Emery began acting at the age of 10, in his homeland of Liberia, West Africa. In the United States, he has performed on the theatre hardwood in such productions as Eric Bogosian's "Talk Radio" and "SubUrbia" at New York's Fourth Street Theatre, legendary Director Garland Wright's last production of "The Tempest" at Washington D.C.'s Shakespeare Theatre, "Othello" with Patrick Stewart, "A Raisin in the Sun", Washington Theatre Festival"s "One Thousand and One", "Deeds Not Words" to name a few.

Emery has also made notable guest star and recurring appearances on hit television shows, some of which include "Dark Angel", "The Practice", "Angel", "Law & Order", "Once and Again", "Homicide: Life on the Street", "Holiday Heat", HBO's Emmy Award winning mini-series "The Corner", amongst others.  Most recently Emery appeared in HBO's "Something the Lord Made" and currently portrays the Western District"s Community Relations Sergeant on the HBO hit series "The Wire."  On the silver screen he has appeared in films such as "Deep Impact", "Species II" and "Beloved."  Emery was featured in the American Bar Association Journal for his accomplishments in both the entertainment and legal arenas (ABA Journal Nov. 2004). In July 2005, he appeared as a celebrity guest on "Capital Cinema", along with Vanessa Williams and Director Michael Schultz.

Emery has co-written, produced and starred in the a sci-fi legal thriller entitled "The Reconciler", a film festival favorite, which won the Silver Award at the Atlantic City Film & Music Festival, the Bronze Award at The Festival of Fantastic Films England 2002, the Distinction Award at the Communicator Awards 2002 and received high commendations at the Santa Fe Film festival 2003.  He has also co-produced other festival favorites including, "The Affidavit" (Best Short - London Fantasy Film Festival 2003) and "Civic Duty" (2004).  Emery has recently completed a feature length screenplay based upon "The Reconcilers", as well as a gritty, present day political thriller, entitled "Shadow Forces". Emery has recently executive produced and starred in, "Arizona Seaside", a dark comedy currently in post-production.  He is currently collaborating on another feature "Fall Guy", a dark comedy in which he will star and produce and "Red Ball Express", a Black World War II drama, based on the true-life events of three friends fighting with allied forces in the North African Theatre of Operation.
